Inverse, a next generation digital media startup focused on the future of innovation, science, entertainment, and culture and geared towards millennial men, today announced its Series A, a $6 million round led by Crosslink Capital with contributions from Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments (BDMI), and other investors including Social Starts, Bialla Venture Partners, and Vast Ventures.
Dave Nemetz is the founder and CEO of Inverse, a new digital media brand focused on the future of pop culture, lifestyle, science, and tech for millennial men. Prior to Inverse, Dave founded Bleacher Report and built it into a category leading digital sports brand and a successful exit to Turner Broadcasting. He is also an active angel investor and advisor to digital media startups.
Winton Welsh is the Chief Technology Officer of Inverse. Winton started working professionally at age 12, building web sites for companies such as Procter and Gamble and General Mills. Since then, he has amassed almost 20 years of experience leading teams to build dynamic, scalable, and fault-tolerant web applications.
Steve is a co-founder and product/design lead at Inverse. He holds an assortment of computer and design related degrees from Indiana University. He enjoys following Indiana Hoosiers basketball, strong IPAs, and weekend vacationing throughout the west coast.
Michael is a Co-Founder and Senior Software Engineer for everything that goes on behind the scenes at Inverse. He is the only one of the team based outside of the US, working remotely from Muenster, Germany. He graduated from University of Muenster with a Master of Science in Information System in 2013 and is crafting media sites for more than four years now.
John Degner is a Co-Founder and Developer at Inverse. He is based in San Francisco, California, EE.UU. John graduated from RDCHC of UofO in 2003 with a BS in Mathematics and a BS in Computer Science. Since then he has focused on web and mobile application development.
Andrew is a writer and editor living in Brooklyn. A New England native and recovered Californian, he previously worked for Men's Journal, Maxim, Salon.com, and The Cambodia Daily, among other outlets. Andrew is the Managing Editor of Inverse.
