Partnered Raises $850K in fresh seed funding to pair big brands with startups

Partnered, a Y Combinator-backed company that pairs emerging startups with big brands, raised a fresh $850,000 in new funding and is coming out of closed beta. The round brings the company’s total funding to $1.6 million.

Cullen Wilson
CEO & Co-Founder Cullen previously co-founded WordPress Engine, a hosting platform for anyone running WordPress that requires scale, security, and speed (think Heroku for WordPress), and lead the company to profitability in only 6 months (WordPress Engine currently has over 33,000 paying customers). Cullen brings leadership, startup know-how, marketing, PR, front-end development, and product design to Sponsorfied.

CTO & Co-Founder

Stuart is the CTO of Sponsorfied, and is responsible for building out the entire backend of the Sponsorfied marketplace and platform. Prior to the Daily Dot, Stuart was the technical co-founder of Spreadsy, TradeSparrow, and MailKart. He is the main contributor to multiple open source projects in the web development community, one of which was selected to be shown during a SXSW panel in 2011. Stuart graduated from the University of Texas with a B.A. in Computer Science.

Baldwin Cunningham
Baldwin Cunningham
Brand Manager & Co-Founder Baldwin was previously the Brand Manager for the ad agency, Zehnder, Inc., with operations primarily in the southeast. Before that, Baldwin was the Marketing Director for What’s Up Networks, a company that focuses on experienced-based marketing for alcohol and clothing brands (Vineyard Vines, Harpoon, Firefly Vodka) in Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Baldwin brings invaluable industry knowledge to Sponsorfied as well as an extremely robust network of sponsors and event coordinators (seriously, he knows everyone).
