Interesting Hackernews Discussion, for investors that are interested in digging deeper.
I founded, raised money, scaled and sold my first startup, a local service marketplace called Acessozero that had over 1MM signups. After four years in operation, Apontador.com - Brazilian version of Yelp - acquired us. Before becoming a founder, I worked as a management consultant doing M&A and turnarounds at Go4 Consulting. Clients included Hertz (NYSE:HTZ), Autodesk (NASDAQ:ADSK) and Fila (KRX:081660).
I have more than 15 years of experience on software architecture & development. Before co-founding Pipefy, I started a profitable ERP & CRM System Integrator called Ateliware. We built a reputation for delivering complex enterprise projects in record time. I spent most of my career working on the implementation, development, automation and integration of ERPs, CRMs and BPMs like Microsoft Dynamics AX, MS Sharepoint, Salesforce, TOTVS, FLUIG, and Datasul. Most of our customers were subsidiaries of Fortune 1000 companies in Brazil and Mexico. My passion for software development led me to pursue a master in Agile Software Development. Today, I teach Agile, Scrum, TDD (Test Driven Development) and XP - Extreme Programming - classes on my spare time.
As an entrepreneur, I completed the cycle from start to exit a company a few times. I am the co-chair of HBS Angels in Brazil and part of HBS Angel'sl board. Aside from HBS investments, I run a seed-stage fund in Brazil. I was a previous investor in Alessio's first startup (AcessoZero) and was so impressed with Pipefy's vision and product that I made the decision to join Pipefy as an investor and part-time COO.
I built and led from scratch a sales operation of USD 12mi/year focused on large enterprise groups in Brazil, growing to a team of 50 professionals that I hired, trained and managed. Previously, I had been part of the trainee program of the American Chamber of Commerce, where I set the new individual sales record of the history of the organization in Brazil. Before joining Pipefy, I have just graduated as an INSEAD MBA (France/Singapore) and have previously attended executive programs at Chicago Booth and Michigan Ross in the areas of negotiation, leadership, and sales management.
As a designer, I focus on improving lives and making humans more efficient. I've helped many startups create excellent products, making smart stuff for people to use. Previous to Pipefy, I have worked as a Lead UX & UI Designer for GVT/Vivendi, a telecom company that was recently acquired by Telefonica Group (NYSE:TEF) for US$9.3 billion. Being one of the first employees of their internet era, I was responsible for creating all the visuals of products, including the conception of new ones. Before that, I worked at iG, one of the largest web portals in Brazil.
